About the role
The Administration Officer is the first point of contact for clients and visitors and will be responsible for providing high quality administration and support to the team at the Burleigh office. 

What you'll be doing

  • Provide clerical support in the form of accurate and timely typing, filing/photocopying and sending faxes and or emails;
  • Effectively respond and refer, where necessary, emergency calls and situations
  • Collect, register and dispatch all incoming and outgoing correspondence and maintain office supplies
  • Be knowledgeable of office operations to be able to provide clients and callers with up to date information on services;
  • Maintaining electronic vehicle booking system & vehicle maintenance as instructed by the Service Manager.
  • Organise division functions and co-ordinate meetings for the Service Manager and General Manager
  • Great all visitors and clients and ensure that the reception area is maintained at all times.

About You

You’re someone who:

  • Builds strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Brings experience in a similar administration role
  • Is passionate about making a positive impact and supporting others with heart and purpose

Essential selection criteria

  1. 12 months experience in a similar position
  2. Certificate II in Business Administration highly desirable
  3. Demonstrated skills and ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software or ability to rapidly acquire.
  5. Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  6. Ability to rapidly acquire skills associated with the implementation and usage of software

Requirements

  • A Blue Card for working with children ('No Card No Start' policy applies)
  • National police check
  • Current drivers' license.
  • LCS2 clearance withing 3 months of commencing employment (this is a risk-assessed role under the Child Protection Act 1999) 
  • *IDENTIFIED POSITION - To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. A Confirmation of Aboriginality will need to be provided.
