About the role
As a Program Manager, you will lead and supervise a team of professional and operational staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality family well-being and child protection services. The role requires a passion for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and a strong interest in the development of the holistic person, and a personal interest in health, spirituality, culture and personal well-being.
What you'll be doing
- Provide leadership, management and supervision of quality Family Wellbeing Service delivery consistent with legislation, departmental policies, practice guidelines and statutory responsibilities.
- Identify training needs and collaborate with relevant training and development specialists on the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs that support quality service delivery.
- Develop enduring service delivery partnerships to enhance cross-sector participation, training and development and the delivery and co-ordination of local child protection services.
- Display personal drive and integrity.
- Ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Family Wellbeing Service, in conjunction, with the other Program Managers and General Manager.
- Foster a culture and philosophy of frontline service delivery, cooperation, team work, high quality people management, commitment to excellence and a professional ethic which ensures the service team continues to meet the department’s priorities.
- Provide authoritative and expert advice to relevant business unit team members to assist in the coordination of quality and appropriate client services.
About You

- Brings experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
- Is passionate about making a positive impact and supporting others with heart and purpose
Selection criteria
- Strong focus on community engagement and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor or higher in Human Services or similar field with at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role is highly desirable
- Experience managing staff and financial resources
- Ability to provide high-level support and advice to regional management in relation to outcomes, delivery, and improvement strategies.
Requirements
- A Blue Card for working with children ('No Card No Start' policy applies)
- National police check
- Current drivers' license.
- LCS2 clearance withing 3 months of commencing employment (this is a risk-assessed role under the Child Protection Act 1999)
- *IDENTIFIED POSITION - To perform this role it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. A Confirmation of Aboriginality will need to be provided.
