Kalwun Health and Wellbeing Service delivers a primary health care service to the people of the Gold Coast & surrounding communities.

Kalwun is seeking to recruit a Social & Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker to the Social & Emotional Wellbeing team. The Support Worker is responsible for providing support in the delivery of Social & Emotional Wellbeing care to referred clients for mental health & substance misuse. The SEWB Worker will focus on providing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to strengthen their wellbeing in a variety of ways including connection to health and other external services and culturally appropriate activities. This full time position is available at our Miami clinic.
Position Duties
- Provide cultural and social emotional support to clients experiencing mental health and/or substance misuse issues
- Work collaboratively with the Social & Emotional Wellbeing Care Coordinator, co-managing a caseload of clients
- Facilitate and co-facilitate groups
- Support the goals of the client ensuring the goals are focused on building resilience and capacity of the client
- Work in a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic and client centred approach to clients mental health and substance misuse issues
- Contribute to case reviews.
Essential Selection Criteria
This is an identified position, applicants must be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
- Able to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
- Demonstrated experience in delivering programs and activities
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Experience is desirable in the delivery and care coordination services for mental health, alcohol and other drugs or other social supports.
- Current Qld C class drivers licence.
